Do I need to pay for anything?

No. TMDB, MDBList, Gemini, and TVDB all have free options. For this guide, TMDB, MDBList, and Gemini are the main keys; TVDB is optional.

Do I need a Nuvio account?

Yes. Nuvio is where you'll install the addons and import the collections.

Why does my poster/artwork look wrong?

It can take a few minutes for AIoMetadata to fetch and cache metadata for a title the first time you view it. Refresh after a moment and it should populate.

Why are some catalogs empty at first?

Public AIoMetadata instances can take a moment to fetch and cache new catalog results. Save your config, install the addon, then give it a few minutes and refresh Nuvio. If a catalog still stays empty, try another public AIoMetadata instance.

Can I use my own AIoMetadata instance?

Yes. The public instances are just the easiest option. If you self-host AIoMetadata, open the configuration page for your own instance, import the config file, add your API keys, then install the generated addon URL in Nuvio.

My ratings aren't showing up

Check that your MDBList API key is entered correctly. MDBList has a 1,000 request/day free limit — if you've hit it, ratings will resume the next day.

TVDB shows wrong artwork for a series

TVDB occasionally has mismatched entries. You can report corrections directly on thetvdb.com.

Is my API key stored securely?

Your API keys are stored in the AIoMetadata addon configuration tied to your install. They are only used for the services you enter them for.
